Clothing Care and Maintenance
The lifespan of your clothing depends on proper use, washing and storage. Always follow the care label on the individual garment. The recommendations below are general guidelines and apply only where they do not conflict with the manufacturer's instructions.
Washing and Cleaning
- If machine washing is permitted, we recommend a gentle cycle at a low temperature, generally 20–30 °C. Higher temperatures may cause shrinkage, fading, loss of shape or damage to prints.
- Select a low spin speed, generally 600–800 rpm. Delicate fabrics may require an even lower setting or no spin cycle, depending on the care label.
- Wash garments inside out, especially those with prints, embroidery or other decorative details. Empty pockets, close zips and fasten hook-and-loop closures.
- Separate laundry by colour and fabric type. Wash new dark and brightly coloured garments separately for the first few washes.
- Use a detergent suitable for the fabric and follow the recommended dosage. Use specialist detergents for wool and silk.
- Do not use bleach unless expressly permitted by the care label. We recommend avoiding fabric softener on performance fabrics and fabrics containing elastane.
- Do not overload the washing machine. Wash delicate garments in a protective laundry bag and separately from items with hooks or sharp components.
- Avoid prolonged soaking, vigorous scrubbing and wringing. Hand washing is not suitable for every garment.
- If washing is prohibited on the care label, follow the specified professional cleaning instructions.
Drying
- Remove garments from the washing machine promptly, gently reshape them and dry according to the care label.
- For gentle care, we recommend air drying in a well-ventilated space. Tumble dry only if permitted by the manufacturer and use the appropriate programme.
- Do not dry clothing directly on radiators, near intense heat sources or in direct sunlight. This may cause shrinkage, fading or damage to the fabric and prints.
- Dry knitwear and heavier garments prone to stretching flat, unless the care label specifies otherwise. Do not hang them by the shoulders or edges while wet.
- Store clothing only when completely dry.
Ironing and Steaming
- Iron only if permitted by the care label and do not exceed the indicated temperature. Start with the lowest suitable setting.
- If ironing is permitted, iron printed garments inside out. Never place the iron directly on prints, logos, patches or other decorative details.
- Use steam only on fabrics that can tolerate it. Steaming is not suitable for every garment or type of print.
Protecting Prints and Decorative Details
- Do not stretch or scrub prints, or expose them directly to high temperatures.
- Do not use harsh stain removers or solvents on prints or decorative details.
- When folding, avoid sharp creases across large or raised prints wherever possible.
Proper Wear
- Wear clothing according to its fabric and intended purpose. Protect it from sharp objects, hook-and-loop fasteners and rough surfaces.
- When putting clothing on or taking it off, avoid pulling excessively on the neckline, sleeves, seams or decorative details.
- Do not overload pockets. Excessive weight can stretch the fabric and strain the seams.
- Repeated friction from backpacks, bags or rough upholstery may cause pilling and abrasion.
- Avoid contact with harsh chemicals. Allow deodorant and perfume to dry before getting dressed.
- If you notice a loose seam or other damage, limit further wear and washing to prevent it from worsening. Do not pull loose threads.
Removing Stains and Pilling
- Treat stains promptly using a method suitable for the fabric and consistent with the care label. Do not scrub the affected area with a stiff brush.
- Test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first. Do not apply concentrated products directly to the fabric unless their instructions permit it.
- Do not pull pills off by hand. Remove them gently using a tool suitable for the fabric, without applying excessive pressure.
Storage
- Store clothing clean and completely dry in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
- Store jumpers, heavier hoodies and other garments prone to stretching folded.
- For garments suitable for hanging, use appropriately sized hangers that do not distort the shoulders.
Choosing a Size and Trying On
- Consider the measurements, fit and fabric properties when choosing a size. Refer to the product's size chart where available.
- Choose a size that allows comfortable movement without overstretching the fabric or seams.
- Try clothing on carefully after delivery, before washing or regular wear. Avoid staining it with makeup, deodorant or perfume.
